Cost Accountant

STATUS: Salaried, Exempt

REPORTS TO: Controller

LOCATION: Gilbert, SC

DEPARTMENT: Administration

Pay: $60,000 – $75,000/year, based on experience

Job Summary:

The Cost Accountant is responsible for overseeing the preparation of organizational budgets, operational costs, and purchasing. The Cost Accountant must also construct and monitor the company’s data systems to provide management with an appropriate level of costing information.

Essential Functions:  

  • Establishing costs of business processes such as overhead, direct and indirect costs
  • Assisting with budget analysis on a monthly and yearly basis
  • Recommending amendments to the company’s processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities and establishing purchasing agreements with repeat/large volume vendors 
  • Advising upper management on appropriate costing based on financial data
  • Managing accounts payable using accounting software and other programs and training users in those systems
  • Analyzing workflow processes

LOCATION: North Charleston, SC

REPORTS TO: Branch Manager

PAY: $20-22/hour

The position of Landscape Crew Leader is open within our landscape maintenance division located in North Charleston, SC.

The ideal candidate is an energetic and motivated individual with high-quality standards. This role reports directly to the Branch Manager and will be responsible for providing safe, dependable, and reliable transportation to the members of landscape crews to various locations within the Charleston, SC area. This position is also responsible for performing landscape maintenance along with the crew.

The expected work hours are Monday through Thursday with occasional Fridays and Saturdays (as needed) beginning at 6:30 am.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Organize, supervise, lead and train employees within established guidelines and timeframe.
  • Thoroughly clean and store all equipment in designated areas, when not in use.
  • Inspect each job site weekly and maintain punch lists given by the manager while on site.
  • Track jobs on a daily basis to ensure all properties are being properly maintained within the time constraints that are provided by the client.
  • Continuously identify ways to improve work processes, efficiency, and quality.
  • Keep managers aware of all customer concerns and communication on the job site.

Local CDL Driver (CLASS A or B)

STATUS: Hourly, Full time

LOCATION: Gilbert, SC

Pay Range: $20-25/hour

This position will serve as both the Mulch Crew Driver and Crew Leader. The Mulch Crew Leader will be responsible for 2-3 team members and will oversee the daily mulch operations. This person is expected to have or be able to obtain a Class A or B CDL.

Responsibilities:

  • Properly transport and deliver mulch to a designated area.
  • Follow instructions as provided by supervisor.
  • Drive in a safe and alert manner to and from each and every job-site.
  • Train and supervise team members on a daily basis.
  • Maintain truck and equipment on a regular basis

Landscape Installation – Leader

STATUS: Hourly, Full time

LOCATION: Gilbert, SC

REPORTS TO: Production Manager

PAY: $18-21/hour

The Enhancements Team Leader will directly oversee a 2 to 5-member crew. They would see all projects from beginning to end and ensure their completion with efficiency, safety, and accuracy. The Enhancements Team Leader would also be required to deliver or have materials delivered to the job sites at the right times so that work may not be impeded.

As crew leader, they will need to know and be proficient in; renovation/enhancements, irrigation, plant id, hardscapes, retaining walls and installs. They will also be expected to train and monitor the crew members. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day site operations and delegate work to crew members
  • Ensure  landscape service expectations are met
  • Identify more efficient ways to perform work
  • Assist the supervisor in the development and training of crew members
  • Submit accurate crew time logs
  • Ensure all crew members perform their work safely and in accordance with company policies
  • Ensure equipment is in good working order and receives appropriate preventative maintenance
  • Install a variety of plant material
  • Move heavy materials and equipment
  • Dig/Excavate holes and trenches using picks and shovels or related equipment
  • Haul/spread topsoil, gravel, sand, mulch, or related materials using wheelbarrows and rakes and sometimes by hand

Irrigation Technician

STATUS: Hourly, Full time

LOCATION: Gilbert, SC

REPORTS TO: Detail Supervisor

PAY: $18-23/hour

Duties & Responsibilities: 

The Irrigation Technician will help maintain and repair irrigation systems on a daily basis. The ideal candidate is someone who is able to work independently, troubleshoot irrigation systems, and provide routine maintenance to prevent major issues.

  • Perform site assessments to identify and report any repairs needed.
  • Replace worn or damaged irrigation heads.
  • Repair irrigation mainlines and feeder lines.
  • Troubleshoot and repair irrigation valves and wiring issues.
  • Program irrigation controllers.
  • Troubleshoot and repair single-wire, multi-strand, and two-wire systems.


Education & Experience Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent, preferred.
  • 2 years of landscape irrigation repair experience, preferred.
  • Must have knowledge of PVC installation techniques and understand irrigation designs.

Landscape Day Porter

STATUS: Hourly, Full time

LOCATION: Gilbert, SC

Pay Range: $17-21/hour

The Day Porter will help maintain manicured landscapes by supporting our team at large-scale commercial sites. They will be expected to safely operate commercial-grade landscaping equipment and ensure the upkeep of plant material and other landscaping elements.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining a clean landscape environment
  • Picking up trash and debris
  • Performing weed control – both chemically and by hand pulling
  • Maintaining plant health through fertilization and pest treatments
  • Making minor repairs to irrigation systems and manually watering turf and shrubs as needed
  • Helping with special requests as needed

Skills:

  • Knowledge of irrigation systems
  • Experience with handheld power equipment such as blowers, trimmers, etc
  • Knowledge of chemicals and fertilizers

Stormwater Maintenance Team Member

STATUS: Hourly, Full time

LOCATION: Gilbert, SC

REPORTS TO: Crew Leader, VP of Stormwater Operations

PAY: $18-21/hour

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performing work in a SAFE manner is the #1 priority
  • Prefer 1-2 years of experience with outdoor labor including, but not limited to: landscaping, construction, grounds maintenance and repair, or similar work
  • Operating landscaping equipment including weed eaters, blowers, shovels, chain saws, hedge trimmers, mowers, and rakes
  • Collecting and properly disposing of the pollutants, trash, debris, sediment, and loose vegetation
  • Provide routine cleanup, maintenance, and light repairs of stormwater infrastructure including retention ponds, detention basins, drainage ditches, stormwater grates, and other stormwater assets
  • Perform mowing, weed-trimming, debris removal, ground maintenance and cleanup, light construction, and maintenance repairs for properties as directed
  • Operate landscaping and light construction equipment
  • Maintain equipment trailer
  • Company-paid overnight travel (e.g. food, water, lodging) whenever necessary

Heavy Equipment Operator (Mulching + Dirt Work)

  • An advanced level of operating heavy equipment, primarily skid steers and excavators.
  • Proper grading and leveling knowledge.
